Richard is a full time Professor at the Lamont School of Music at the University of Denver. His students have gone on to orchestral jobs, fellowships and doctoral programs around the country. Students enjoy success in competitions at the national and international level such as the Big 12 Conference and the International Trombone Association.

2024 sees RichardTromboneCamp! rebranded as the Santa Fe Trombone Camp. We are very happy to be partnering with the New Mexico School of the Arts who will host us in beautiful downtown Santa Fe New Mexico. The camp runs from Friday July 19th through Sunday July 21st. Daily group warm ups are followed by masterclasses where students will perform for their peers and be coached by faculty. The afternoons will involve chamber music coaching and there will be a final concert for family, guests and the community on July 21st. Click here for more information

RMBI is an intensive, week-long educational experience for serious college and High School level players. The institute includes: career seminars, master classes, chamber ensemble coachings, competitions, and incredible faculty recitals and concerts. RMBI is led by some of the finest brass musicians in the world - the members of Summit Brass. The Trombone faculty includes: Scott Hartman, Yale University. Megumi Kanda, Milwaukee Symphony. Brad Edwards, Arizona State University. John Lofton, Los Angeles Philharmonic. Plus myself!
