Richard Harris
Professor University of Denver
Richard is Professor of Trombone at the University of Denver and is the former Assistant Principal Trombone of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. He is a regular guest with many of the US’s top symphony orchestras, including the Seattle Symphony, Boston Symphony, The Metropolitan Opera, Colorado Symphony, Buffalo Philharmonic and is a former member of the Radio City Music Hall Orchestra in New York City. He has performed on Oscar winning movie soundtracks and GRAMMY award albums.
Dr. Steve Wilson
Professor University of Texas El Paso
Dr. Wilson has been active nationally and internationally as a soloist, as a member of the Continental Trombone Quartet, and as a member of the Jim Widner Big Band. His most recent collaborations have been with Bruce Adolphe, Director of Family Concerts for the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, and Mike Block, Kaoru Watanabe, and Shane Shannon of The Silk Road Ensemble, in a new chamber music work for bass trombone, piano, cello, shinobue, and percussion in a series of performances at the Off the Hook Arts Festival in Colorado, Princeton University, and a sell-out performance at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall.
Ryan Finn
Santa Fe Youth Symphony Association
Ryan Finn is currently an Assistant Principal at Los Alamos High School where he also serves as the school’s Activities Director. In this position he leads the Topper Freshman Academy, the Activities Office, oversees four academic departments, and manages discipline for all 9th & 10th graders. In addition, Ryan serves as the Director of Jazz for the Santa Fe Youth Symphony Association where he runs the "Jazz Project" program in both Santa Fe and Los Alamos. Ryan performs locally with a number of jazz and blues bands on trombone and leads a jazz group that performs many of his original compositions, most of which are in Caribbean and Latin American styles. In January 2020 Ryan was awarded the NMMEA Music Educator of the Year Award and in January 2021 he had the distinct honor of leading one of the NMMEA All-State Jazz Bands.
